Barbara Foley Dunn

Barbara Foley Dunn, 77, of Maple Avenue, Newport, RI, died peacefully at home on Sunday, September 25, 2011 with her family at her side.Born in Newport, RI on February 2, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Edward B. and May Cruickshank Foley. Mrs. Dunn was a graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing. She then served her country in the US Navy Nursing Corps. Barbara then returned to Newport and was employed as a registered nurse at St. Clare Home in Newport for 23 years retiring in 1996.She is survived by her four children, John F. Dunn of Newport, RI, Mary Elizabeth Dunn of Denver, CO, Patricia Ann Randall of Newport, RI and Jacqueline F. Sleeper of Newport, RI; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Bernadette Betty Foley of Southern Pines, NC. She was the sister of the late Margaret Byassee.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 9:00 am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
