CASSELBERRY, FL - Barbara Jean Frazier Oakley, 72, of 1079 Laura Street, Casselberry, FL, formerly of Newport, RI, passed away after an illness at home on Thursday, June 9, 2005. She was the beloved wife of John Benjamin Oakley for 32 years. Born in Newport, RI on October 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Reliance Silvia Frazier. Barbara and her husband John retired to Florida in 1997. She was an empoloyee of the Naval Officers Club for 27 years. She was a member of the Casselberry Ladies Club. She was the loving mother of eight children. Preceded in death by her son Donald Gilman of Newport. She is survived by daughters Deborah Krugman of Narragansett, RI, Barbara Monk and Dawn Marshall both of Newport, RI, Leslie Younce of Middletown, RI, and Nancy Prentice of Sheldon, SC, and sons Robert Gilman of Fall River, MA, and James Gilman of Middletown, RI. She leaves fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters Joan Alvanas of Portsmouth, RI, Lillian Spooner and Shirley Cochran both of Newport, RI. She was the sister of the late John Frazier. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Monday, June 13, 2005, at 11:00 AM in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on June 12, 2005, from 2-4 and 7-9 in the funeral home.
