Barbara Mcelroy Stetson

Middletown, RI - Barbara McElroy Stetson, 89, of Forest Farm Health Care Centre, Middletown, RI, formerly of 371 Browns Lane, Middletown, died peacefully Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Forest Farm Health Care Center in Middletown surrounded by family.She was the wife of the late Thomas H. Stetson, USN, Ret.Mrs. Stetson was an avid bridge player and reader. She was a volunteer at Forest Farm for many years before becoming a resident.She is survived by three daughters Linda Stetson of New York City, Mary Hebert of East Brookfield, MA and Katharine Lemaire of Woodland, CA, a daughter-in-law, Rose Stetson of Providence, RI; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.She was the mother of the late John H. Stetson. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 1, 2009 at 2:30 pm at Forest Farm Health Care Centre, 193 Forest Avenue, Middletown, RI. In lieu flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Redwood Library, 50 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI 02840 or to the Norman Bird Sanctuary, 583 Third Beach Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
