Barbara Ritchie Tracy

Middletown, - Barbara Ritchie Tracy, 82, of 212 Vernon Avenue, Middletown, died Monday, June 28, 2004 at home. She was the wife of the late Jeremiah A. Tracy Sr. Born in Middletown, RI on January 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ritchie and the late Nellie Titus Ritchie.A 1939 graduate of Rogers High School, Mrs. Tracy worked with her sister in the family floral business, the former Ritchie Florists, of Broadway, Newport, and later at OHanleys Gifts and MacConnells Dress Shop on Bellevue, Newport. She was an active member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Middletown.She is survived by a son Charles R. Tracy of Blythewood, SC, a daughter Barbara Allega of Charleston, SC, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeremiah A. Tracy Jr., a brother Charles Ritchie Jr., and two sisters, Marjorie Greene and Emily Ritchie. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 1, at 11:00 AM in Calvary United Methodist Church, Turner And Wyatt Roads, Middletown. Burial is private.
