Little Compton, RI - Barbara T. Perry Mello, 65, of 48 Long Highway, Little Compton, RI, died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of Joseph Mello. Born in Newport, RI on October 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Manuel S. and Madeline Silveira Perry.Mrs. Mello worked along with her husband running the Sakonnet Garden Center in Tiverton. She was a member of the Water Color Society and the Newport Art Museum. She was also a water color artist. Besides her husband she is survived by her son Michael Ervin of Portsmouth, RI, and her step children Carol Botelho of Winslow, ME, Lisa Miranda of Bristol, RI, Joseph Brian Mello of Warren, RI, and Daniel J. Mello of New Market, NH Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2006, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 4, 2006, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home.
