Portsmouth, RI - Bedros Peter Boyadjian, 52, of Portsmouth, RI, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009. He was the husband of Marena Mel Ornazian Boyadjian for 28 years.Born in Beirut, Lebanon, he came to this country when he was 9, living with an extended family settling in New Jersey. He received a BS in Electronic Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and was about to receive his MBA from the University of Rhode Island.A dedicated and technically gifted Raytheon engineer, his recent projects included the newly-commissioned USS New York, crafted from the steel of the World Trade Center. A trophied high school basketball and football player, he loved playing backgammon, sailing, listening to KLOV, and singing in choir. He was also the proud president of the U.S. Air Force Academy Parents Association of Rhode Island, but his greatest enjoyments were cooking for his family and friends and serving others. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Christina, 2d Lt. Gregory, USAF, Diana, and James; his mother, Araxie Boyadjian and his siblings, Sossi, Hagop Jack, and Helen; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and greatly loved extended family. His funeral will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Ocean State Baptist Church, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road Portsmouth, RI.
