Belen (Canlas) Trapela, 76, of Middletown died Monday, October 12, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.She was the wife of the late Augusto Curiano Trapela.She was born on January 22, 1939 in Manila the Philippines, daughter of the late Bernardino and Teodoria (Solomon) CanlasShe is survived by her children, Michael Trapela of Middletown, RI, Mark Trapela and his wife Kate of Florida, Maria Bixby and her husband Peter of Portsmouth, RI and Luisa Trapela of Washington State, and her grandchildren, John Trapela, Luke Trapela, Jessica Bixby, and Liam Bixby.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 6:00pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport,Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lucy's Hearth, 913 West Main Road, Middletown, RI 02842
