Portsmouth, - Bella Theresa Lema Moniz, 77, of 173 Brownell Lane Portsmouth, died Thursday, October 2, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of John Moniz Jr., of Portsmouth. Born in Portsmouth, RI on November 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sylvester Lema. Mrs. Moniz was a member of St. Anthonys Church. She enjoyed cooking and her cat Morris. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons John Moniz of Warren, RI, and David Moniz of Jamestown, RI, her brother John Lima of Portsmouth, RI, her sister Rose Cowan of Middletown, RI, and her grandson Kevin J. Moniz.She was the sister of the late Joseph Lima, Manuel Lima, Antone Lima, Mary Dias and Anna Mello. Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 6, 2003, at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
