Belmira "Bella" Miranda Silvia Portsmouth, RI - Belmira "Bella" Miranda Silvia, 86, of 1144 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, died at home on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. She was the wife of Antone J. "Tony" Silvia, Sr. Born in Fall River, MA on November 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Almeida Miranda and Mary Rebello Miranda Cordeiro, both of whom were from the Azores.Mr. and Mrs. Silvia have been together for seventy years and married for sixty-six years. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and caring for her children and grandchildren.Besides her husband she leaves her children Agnes Silvia of Portsmouth and Antone J. Silvia, Jr. and his wife Regina McCaughy-Silvia of Little Compton. She also leaves her two grandchildren Casey Silvia of Boston, MA, and Corey Silvia of Little Compton. Mrs. Silvia was the sister of David Miranda of Anchorage, AK, Frank Miranda of Little Compton, Rose Botelho of New Bedford, MA and Eileen Sedoma of Fall River, MA.She was preceeded in death by her sisters and brothers Mary Perry, Adeline Brown, Angelina Ferry, Manuel Almeida, Joseph Miranda, John Miranda, Michael Miranda and Edward Miranda. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 9:00am from the Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road Portsmouth with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Barnabas Church 1697 East Main Road Portsmouth.. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon from 2 - 4pm in the Connors Funeral Home.
