Benjamin Pimental

Benjamin J. BenPimental of, Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 in the Newport Hospital.He was the husband of Dorothy O. Cunha Pimental.Born in Middletown on December 21, 1923, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary DaPonte Pimental.Mr Pimental served in the Army during WWII as a Medic in England. He worked for several years for Raytheon in Portsmouth and ELBE File Co. in Fall River. in their maintenance departments. Ben was an avid vegetable gardener and enjoyed reading.Besides his wife he leaves a son John P. Pimental and his wife Suzanne LeBlanc Pimental of Portsmouth, a grandson Benjamin E. Pimental also of Portsmouth. He leaves a sister M. Theresa Santos of Middletown and a brother Antone Pimental of Newport. He was the brother of the late Manuel Pimental.Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 9:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway Newport with at Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, 509 Broadway, Newport.Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4-8 pm.Burial will take place in Newport Memorial Park.
