Bernadette F. Bahr

Newport, - Bernadette F. Bahr, of 30 Kay Street Newport, died Saturday, November 23, 2002 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Lawrence, MA on October 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Lillian McCarthy Buckley. Mrs. Bahr was a graduate of Mass State College at Amherst with a BA Degree in Sociology. She was a social director in special service in Europe during WWII. After WWII she lived in South America. She was a member of the Newport Art Museum, the Preservation Society, Newport Music Festival, and friends of the Library. She was also active in Meals on Wheel. She is survived by a sister Kathleen Walker of Jupiter, FL, a nephew Steven Walker of Boynton Beach, FL, she was also the aunt of the late Scott Walker. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 2, 2002, at 10:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway at Mann Avenue Newport Burial will be in Island Cemetery in Newport.
