Bernadette Marie Moniz

Bernadette M. Moniz, age 61, of Middletown, died on Friday, October 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.Born in New Bedford, MA on December 28, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Frances Thibeault. She was proud of being a Navy daughter and an honorary San Diegan. Bernadette was a graduate of Middletown High School and Katharine Gibbs. She worked in the Middletown Public school system for over 20 years. She loved going on family camping trips, gardening, and being with her grandchildren and friends.Bernadette is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Steven J. Moniz, their daughters, Jeannine (Tony) Moniz, Alison (Mathieu) Ducharme and Renee Moniz, along with grandchildren, Gabrielle Moniz, AJ Moniz, Charlotte Ducharme and Riley Moniz. She is also survived by her three sisters, Michele (Thomas) Beaudoin of Colorado, Kathleen (Brian) McDermott of Arizona and Jeannette (Terry) Bluck of Arizona, 13 nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
