Bernard T. Mckenna

Middletown, RI - Bernard T. McKenna, 83, of 333 Green End Avenue, Middletown, formerly of 5 Cross Street, Newport, and Lanfana, FL, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.He was the husband of the late Mary Margaret OConnor McKenna and the late Ruth Martin. Born in Providence, RI on February 25, 1921, he was the son of the late Bernard T. and Sara Devlin McKenna. Mr. McKenna was a foreman with General Electric for 31 years, retiring in 1982. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a member of Saint Josephs Church, Newport, the Newport Lodge of Elks and the Wanumetonomy Golf Club. He is survived by his son Bernard Thomas McKenna Jr. of Manchester, NH, three daughters Joan Donohue, Elizabeth Paris and Marianne Calcagno all of Newport, RI, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.He was the brother of the late Edward McKenna, John McKenna, Leo McKenna and Virginia Koneizney. His funeral will be held on Monday, November 29, 2004, at 9:00AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
