Bertha E. Mcteague

Middletown, RI - Bertha E. Czap Carrera McTeague, 87, of Middletown, RI, formerly of West Hartford, Ct, died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Raymond McTeague, and prior to that, of the late Jose Carrera. Born in Duquesne, PA, on February 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Eotvos Czap.Mrs. McTeague loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the West Hartford Senior Center. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Carrera McTeague, and son-in-law Emmett, of Tiverton, RI, her daughter, Elaine C. Bittner of Avon, CT, two sisters, Elizabeth Greguoli of Watertown, CT, and Irene Vockley of West Mifflin, PA, six grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her brothers Frank Czap, Jr., Alex Czap and Joseph Czap, and her sisters, Jeanette Handa, Mary Fleming, Helen Thomas and Ethel Stanko. The Celebration of Berthas life will take place on June 20 beginning with a service at 12:00 noon followed by a reception.
