Bertha Mae Reposa

Portsmouth, RI - Bertha Mae Harrington Reposa, 81, of 350 Old Mill Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.She was the wife of John H. Reposa of Portsmouth.Born in Newport, RI on May 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Bertha Langley Harrington.Mrs. Reposa attended Rogers High School. She worked for her family bakery the former Harrington Bakery on Broadway and then as a clerk at the former JJ Newberrys on Thames Street. In 1948 she married her husband John. She went to work with her husband, brother and sister-in-law the family?s produce store Crest Farms in 1962 until they sold it in 1978. Mrs. Reposa was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church and a member of its womens guild. She also enjoyed dancing of all types with her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Reposa wintered in Melborne, Florida where Mrs. Reposa was a member of the Shuffle Board Club and the Irish Club.Besides her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her children, John Reposa, Jr., of Terre Haute, ID, Richard Reposa of Lighthouse Point, FL, Patricia Marcogliese of Portsmouth, RI, Barbara Shaw of Merrit Island, FL and Susan Replogle of Portsmouth, RI, and her grandchildren, Donald Marcogliese, Christopher Marcogliese, Danielle Grimm, Kimberly Shaw, Ashley Replogle, Alexandra Replogle, Ryan Reposa, Oliva Reposa, Lorenzo Reposa, Jason Reposa and Alisha Reposa and her sister Theresa Silvia of Florida.She was the sister of the late Michael Harrington, Bruce Harrington, and Evelyn Rouse.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007, at 10:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
