Beth A. O'Connor

Warren, RI - Elizabeth A. Beth OConnor, 56, of Middletown, RI, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the home of her sister in Warren, RI. Born in Providence, RI, on October 10, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Ruth Kirchner OConnor Beth graduated from Middletown High School and went on to attend St. Josephs College in West Hartford, CT, receiving her degree in Elementary Education. She started teaching at the Tonomy Hill Child Care Center and then at St. Michaels Country Day School. Until her illness, Beth was a well-loved teacher at the YMCA Twice as Nice Preschool in Middletown for over 20 years. Over the course of her career she influenced countless children and enjoyed seeing them achieve their goals. Beth loved her family, reading, her book club and nature. She loved boating on the bay with her best friends Kim and Kathy and their families. She is survived by her siblings Mary Ellen Watkins and her husband Edward of Warren, RI, Patricia Pritchard and her husband Tim of Bartlett, TN, John Jack OConnor and his wife Chyleene of Middletown, RI, six nieces and nephews, Meghan Ford, Kelsey OConnor, Catherine OConnor, Daniel Jones, Joshua Jones, Carrie White, Christy Alligood, David Pritchard and Jacob Pritchard, thirteen great nieces and nephews and her faithful feline companion, Hannah.At the request of the family her services will be private.Donations in her memory may be made to the YMCA Child Care Playground Fund, 792 Valley Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
