Bette Mae Holmboe

Bette Mae Holmboe, age 77, a resident of Portsmouth, passed away on March 24th, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents Roman and Glenna Miller, Donnie Miller (Brother) and Marjorie Tabor (Sister). She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Kenneth Holmboe and her children Eric, Kristi and Kevin. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her husband, children and extended family members Eileen, Kenneth and Lauren Holmboe; Steve, Jeffrey and Chelcie Ross; and, Helen and Rebecca Holmboe who all miss her greatly. She was a member of the Newport Garden Club and the English Speaking Union. While living in State College, Pennsylvania, Bette was very active in the International Hospitality Program at Penn State University, opening the Holmboe family home to many loving members to include Kevin Scott, Saied Alaffi, Jafar Salavitabar and numerous others whose lives Bette made richer. She was also an active community volunteer.Memorial Services will be held at Saint Columba's Berkeley Memorial Chapel, 55 Vaucluse Avenue in Middletown, RI, on April 11th at 11 am for family and friends. We also wish to thank the loving staff at Beacon Hospice who became our second family in the care of our Mother, Nanny and Wife.....We would have been lost without them.
