Betty (Cherry) Lorraine Jones January 14, 1940 - September 28, 2015Betty (Cherry) Lorraine Jones was born in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Nehemiah and Nancy (Pinkney) Westpoint.Out of 7 siblings, she is survived by her sister, Daisy Burton of Texas, and her brothers Charles Westpoint of Rhode Island and Joseph Westpoint of Florida.She is survived by her daughters Vadrian Burford and Shantanette Patrice-Johnson, grandchildren, David-Allen, Adrian, Shantanette, and Sierra Jones, great grandchildren, Jomari, Daijon, Dionte, Justin, Adrian, Michelle, Jenayah, Malia, and Emory and a host of nephews, nieces, and loving chosen family and friends.To know Betty, is to know that if you were hungry, you got a meal. If you needed a place to stay, a place was made for you. If you needed a friend, she was never far away. She enjoyed playing bingo, pool, and throwing cookouts for family, friends and neighbors.Betty was a member of Queen Esther Chapter 2 Order of the Eastern Star, and Ladies Auxiliary VFW 44887. She was also an active member of the Park Holm Senior Center of Newport, RI and Revere Senior Center of Revere, MA.A home going ceremony in Betty's honor will be held on Saturday, October 3, 3015, at 11:00AM in Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard, Newport, RI.In lieu of flowers, please donate in Betty Jones memory to Park Holm Senior Center, 1 Park Holm, Newport, RI, 02840, Revere Senior Center, 25 Winthrop Avenue, Revere, MA 02151 or to the Community Baptist Hospitality Committee, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard, Newport, RI 02840.
