North Kingstown, RI - Betty Lou Cullum Edge, 78, of 155 Cole Drive, North Kingstown, RI, formerly of East Greenwich, RI, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at South County Hospital, Wakefield, RI.She was the wife of the late Robert Eugene Edge, Sr. Born in Chester, PA on July 13, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harry Melvin and Jessie Ocean Cullum.Mrs. Edge worked at the Newport Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 17 years, retiring in 1985. She was a graduate of RI Junior College where she received her nursing degree. Betty was an avid reader. She is survived by seven children, Peter L. Edge of North Kingstown, RI, Robert E. Edge, Jr. of Fall River, MA, Michael C. Edge of Greenfield, RI, Curtis D. Edge of Tiverton, RI, Roberta E. Millovitsch of Griswold, CT, Betty Dawn Edge of Port Washington Long Island, NY and Mark A. Edge of Anchorage, AK, her sisters Jean Seaman of Chester, PA and Joan McCoy of Tunchanock, PA, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Melvin Cullum, Malcolm Cullum, Wilbur Cullum, Ethel Nichols and Anne Kilman. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at 11:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Thursday morning from 10-11am in the funeral home.
