Beverly J. Craft

Beverly J. Craft, 60, of Middletown, RI, died Monday, April 23, 2012 in Newport surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Thomas R. Craft.Born in Newport, RI on June 18, 1951, Beverly was the daughter of the late Manuel P. and Mary (Silvia) DeMenezes. Beverly grew up in Newport and graduated from St. Catherines in 1968. She met her husband where they began their family in Newports Fifth Ward, later moving to Middletown. Beverly began her career in real estate and continued on to the mortgage banking business. She was employed by Navy Federal Credit Union and Bank Newport, ultimately retiring from Citizens Bank. When not spending time with her family, Beverly loved to read, play bingo and work on her quilt. After retiring, Beverly enjoyed spending most of her time with her granddaughter Carolyn.Besides her husband of 44 years, she is survived by her children, Thomas J. Craft of Newport, RI, Heather J. Andrews and her husband Richard of Warren, RI, Christine Craft of Newport, RI, and Jennifer R. Craft and her partner Anne-Marie J. Rosa of North Dartmouth, MA, and two granddaughters, Stephanie Craft of Billerica, MA and Carolyn Craft of Newport. Beverly is also survived by her brother Manuel P. DeMenezes and his wife Margaret now of Florida, and her sisters, Deborah Circosta of Newport, RI and Pamela Noury and her husband Robert of Pawtucket, RI. She was predeceased by her brother Francis P. DeMenezes as well as his wife Elaine. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012, from 4:00-7:00pm at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 8:00 am at the Memorial Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 9:00 am in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport, RI.
