Beverly J. Pine

August 12, 1932 — November 8, 2013

Beverly Janet Pine, 81, lifelong resident of Newport RI, and recent resident of Crystal River, FL, died Friday, November 8, 2013 in Florida. Daughter of Charles Edward and Catherine Anne Bush (Miller) she was born in Newport on August 12, 1932. She was the wife of Robert Edward Pine. Beverly owned and operated Beverlys House of Beauty for over twenty years, practicing as a beautician for over thirty. Awarded Business Woman of the Year, by Newport County for three years, her shop was top-notch. A hub of the community where many locals spent their Saturdays mornings under the hair dryers, drinking coffee, and sharing the latest news. Those from all walks of life passed through her door, from visiting celebrities, and Newport socialites to the regulars like Mary Salas and Miss Eddy, who added local flavor and lively conversation to the shop. An avid golfer, she and her husband, Bob, enjoyed their membership at Montaup Country Club for many years. Beverly loved the beach and was quite the bathing beauty, turning many a head in her day! Throughout the years, she never lost her sense of style, and combined with her natural beauty and radiance could light up any room that she entered. As an adult, she learned to ski, play racquetball and even belly dance. She also loved to knit and crochet. A devoted and loving mother, her proudest accomplishment was raising her four children. She leaves her son, Joseph G. Costa Jr. Jay R and his wife, Jacalyn of Tiverton RI, their children, Joy, Denee, Allison and Ian; and her three daughters, Yvonne Susan Langford of Cocoa FL, her children, Dawn (husband Terry) and Holly (husband Dan); Denise Lenore McCarthy and her husband, Kevin of Middletown RI, their children Ceili and Thomas; and Margo Janet Violet and her husband, Andrew Bacon of Middletown RI, their children, Zo, Nicholas, Maximilian, Bela and Baron; and her stepson, Robert Pine Jr. Bobby Jr. of New York City. She leaves her great-grandchildren, Finn, Oliver, Kevin, Ryan, Hannah, Emma, Kyle, Mia, Jamie and Michael. She also leaves her brother, Leon R. Bush and his wife, Jeanette of Newport, RI, and their children, Jeannine, Cathy, Ruth, and Leon Jr. and their families. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles E. Bush Jr., her sister, Gladys Malone, and her son-in-law, John Scott Langford. Mom, may your Spirit come to rest along the Coast, among the Bushes, and the Pines where the Rozes and the Violets flourish. We all love you dearly.
