Billy Richards

Billy Ray Richards, 76, of Newport, Rhode Island, died peacefully at home on February 5, 2025. He was the longtime companion of Cynthia Jean Crowell of Newport.

Born in Portsmouth, VA on March 24, 1948, He was the son of Andrew Anderson and Martha O. Jones. Growing up in a military family, he lived in several different locations. This brought him to Newport and he settled here. Billy spent most of his working career as a real estate agent in the area.

He Loved Hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loyal Patriots fan and an avid model car collector.

Billy is survived by his companion Cynthia Crowell, and three step children; Ronald Crowell of Round Rock, TX, Melanie Hill of Newport, and Valerie Friend of Vail, AZ, as well as his siblings; Joel Richards of Newport and Theresa Clements of Cranston. He also leaves his grandchildren Carter Hebrock, Riley Hebrock, Caitlyn Friend, RJ Friend, and Kailey Hebrock, and several niece and nephews.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents sister Karen Richards and a brother, Lee Richards.

Funeral services will be private.

Donations in he memory may be made to the Potter League in memory of Mischief.
