Portsmouth - Bobby Joe ?BJ? Kendrick, 51, of 100 Almeida Terrace, Portsmouth, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital, Providence, RI. Born in Newport, RI on October 11, 1952, he was the son of the Mary Vars Crawford of Little Compton, RI, and the late Bobby J. Kendrick Sr. He was also the step son of Dick Crawford of Little Compton, RI. Mr. Kendrick had served for 4 years in the Navy Submarine Service. He had also worked as a purchasing agent at Pierson Yacht, Little Harbor Marine, and Albin Marine all of Portsmouth. He was a lifetime member of the Portuguese American Citizens Club of Portsmouth. BJ was very active in anything that could be done on the ocean, be it boat racing or fishing. Besides his mother and step father he is survived by two daughters Melenie Morway of Canton, GA, and Christene Vivrios of Newport, RI, five brothers Tracey Kendrick of Gresham, OR, David Kendrick of St. Croix, USVI, Kevin Kendrick of Middletown, RI, James Eline of Seekonk, MA, and E.J. Eline of Middletown, RI, a sister Gail Rosenbaugh of Tiverton, RI, five grandchildren, and 11 nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2003, at 10:00AM in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be private.
