Brian Edward Segerson

Brian Edward Segerson, 70, of Tiverton died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center of Newport, RI. Born on January 7, 1945 in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late Albert Segerson and Helen (Carreiro) Segerson McPhee and stepson of the late Arthur Joseph "Mac" McPhee. Brian lived in Newport most of his life, formerly on Gould Street and West Street. He was an avid HAM radio operator, and was known by the handle "Little Sheriff". He loved old time country music, especially Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. Recently he also enjoyed several trips to Foxwoods. He will be missed by his friends at the Rocky Knoll group home and Heatherwood Nursing Home.He is survived by his brother Michael McPhee of Los Angeles, CA and his sister Bonnie Lancaster of Greenville, NC, and his aunts and uncle Ernie Esther McPhee of Rumford, ME and Anna Carreiro of Newport, RI, and nephews Jason Ainsley of Statesville, NC, Ryan Ainsley of Raleigh, NC and Kevin Ainsley of Greenville, NC. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 9:30 - 11:00am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM in the funeral home.
