Cpl. Brian Oliveira RAYNHAM, MA- Cpl. Brian Oliveira, 22, of Raynham, MA, formerly of Marion, MA, and station in Camp Pendelton, CA, died Monday, October 25, 2004 serving his country in Iraq.He was the husband of Phoebe Oliveira of Glendale, CA. Born in Fall River, MA on December 24, 1981, he was the son of David W. Horseman of Marion, MA and Lillian Oliveira of Fall River, MA. Cpl. Oliveira was a member of the 3rd Battalion 1st Marine Division in the weapons company 81?s mm platoon. He enlisted on January 2, 2001 and was deployed to Iraq in January of 2003 until June of 2003 and then went back to Iraq in June of 2004 until October 25, 2004. Brian attended Fort Barton Elementry school in Tiverton, Raynham Laliberty Junior High School, and Bridgewater Raynham High School were he was on the wrestling team. He also attended BCC in Fall River, MA. Cpl. Oliveira was awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Expeditionary Medal-Marine Corps, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Meritorious Unite Commendation, the Presidential Unit Citation-Navy, the Meritorious Mast and the Purple Heart. Besides his wife and parents he is survived by his son Nathan Brian Oliveira of Glendale, CA, his brother Derek Horseman of Marion, MA, his sister Carolyn Horseman of Marion, MA, his paternal grandmother Miriam Pilkington Horseman of Tiverton, RI, and his maternal grandmother Paula Sousa Oliveira of Fall River, MA.He was the grandson of the late Christopher Horseman and Tomaz Oliveira. His funeral will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2004, at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
