Carmella Teresa Marfil, 60, of Kennedy Road, Foster, RI, formerly of Newport, RI, died on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at home.Born in Italy on August 22, 1952, she is survived by her parents, Ron and Ethel Sams of Middletown, RI, four siblings, Laura Jenson of Middletown, RI, Patrick Sams of Middleburg, FL, Kristin Baker of Middletown, RI, Mathew Sams of Middletown, RI and her extended family at Looking Upwards.Carmella was formerly employed as a galley worker at the James L. Maher Center in Newport for 11 years.She loved watching old sitcoms, especially the Brady Bunch and Full House. Her love of Disney Princesses was displayed throughout her bedroom and home. Carmella loved to take pictures of everything and everyone she met. She greeted everyone she met with a handshake and a smile. Carmellas family and friends were her world and she loved the time spent with them. She loved going shopping and enjoyed going to lunch at Shady Acres with her friends. Carmella enjoyed life to the fullest and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 9 am from Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, Broadway at Mann Avenue, Newport, RI.
