Carol Ann Berriochoa

Newport, RI - Carol Ann Loomis Berriochoa, 74, of 109 Kay Street, Newport, RI, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at home. Born in North Adams, MA on May 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Horace Richard and Anna Chambers Loomis.Carol was a medical secretary in the United States Air Force. She worked in civil service at the Navy Station in Newport for 25 years and volunteered as a CNA for many years at Forest Farm. She loved to travel and most enjoyed her book clubs. She is survived by her children, Ernest Berriochoa, Jr. of Newport, RI, Gary Berriochoa of Cleburne, TX, Deborah Berriochoa of Newport, RI, Glenn A Berriochoa of CT, Ronald L. Berriocho of RI, Kathryn Lynn Esque of MT and Janice Scherdt of Newport, RI, her brother James Loomis of CA, seventeen grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Robert Loomis and Nancy Pitman. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 12:30 pm in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 177 Miantonomi Avenue, Middletown.Burial will be private.Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 11:00 am-12:30pm in the church.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Robert Potter League For Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
