Middletown, - Carol M. Whitaker Flint, 64, of Yarnell Avenue Middletown, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at home. Born in Newport, RI on July 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Randall and Elsie Hoffman Whitaker.Mrs. Flint was a graduate of Bryant College. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She did volunteer work for the Potter League for Animals. She was also a volunteer at Blenheim Newport where she did pet therapy and gardening for the elderly. She also participated in The Island Watchdogs Group. She traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Mrs. Flint was an avid gardener. She is survived by her son Michael P. Flint of Middletown, RI, two daughters Susan L. Chase of Hollis, ME, and Lori J. Vano of Huntington, CT, her sister Linda Whitaker of Kingston, RI, five grandsons Kevin Chase and Gregory Chase both of Hollis, ME, Randy Flint and David Flint both of Middletown, RI, and Ryan Christopher Vano of Huntington, CT. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2003, at 11:30 AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.
