Middletown, RI ? Carole Waller Mercer, 63, of Middletown, RI, died Monday, September 17, 2007 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. She was the wife of William Wade Mercer, Jr. Born in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, on October 12, 1943, she was the daughter ofDoris Wood Thomas who currently resides in England and the late Jack Waller.Mrs. Mercer was a pharmacy technician for 15 years at the Newport Hospital. She was a member of St. Marys Episcopal Church in Portsmouth. Carole was full of life and energy. She was a little English spit-fire who made friends with people very easily. Besides her husband of 40 years, she is survived by her children William Wade Mercer III and his wife Paula of Lubbock, TX, Lara Mercer of Middletown, RI, and Michelle Anne Mercer-Burke and her husband Paul of Mendon, MA, and her grandchildren Ryan Wade Mercer, Riley Jack Mercer and Phoebe Tyler Burke. She was also a dear aunt to Nicola Daniels and Joanne Chrimes who both reside in England.She was the sister of the late Jean Ward. Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007, at 10:00 am in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Marys Churchyard in Portsmouth.Calling hours are omitted.
