Middletown, RI - Carolyn Joan Dewick, Lifetime Member of the Church of The Holy Cross, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 17th at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, after a lengthy illness.Carol was the daughter of Reginald and Lillian Dewick and is survived by her brother James Dewick of Newport, nephew James Dewick, Jr., of Middletown and niece Jo-Ann Dewick-Kery of Owings, Maryland. She was the much beloved Aunt to her six grandniece and nephews.Carol retired from NUSC Newport in 1988. In retirement she enjoyed reading, going to Third Beach, her garden and spending time with friends and family. In addition to being the Assistant Treasurer of the Church of he Holy Cross, Carol belonged to a number of organizations including Saint Marthas Guild, the Holy Cross Alter Guild, NARFE, NUSC, the Middletown Historical Society, the Newport Historical Society and the Edward King Senior Center. Viewing hours will be from 4 to 7 on Friday May 22nd in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Services will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00 am in Holy Cross Church, 1439 West Main Road, Middletown followed by internment at Middletown Cemetery in Middletown. Donations in her memory may be made to Home Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
