Catherine C. "Mima" Waradzin

Catherine C. "Mima" Waradzin, 81, of Forest Avenue, Middletown, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014.Born on September 11, 1932 in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Dougherty) Campbell, she lived in RI for most of her life.Wonderfully wise and deeply spiritual, Mima was a passionate reader who loved nature, art music, and most of all her family. She leaves a legacy of gratitude, loving-kindness, and living lightly on the earth. She is survived by her children, Gregory Waradzin and his wife Christine of Cranston, Sandra Gardner and her husband Randall of Saunderstown, and Susan Cormier of North Kingstown, and her husband David; her grandchildren, Graham, Ryan and Nathaniel Gardner, Eric and Haley Cormier, and Jennifer Pierce and Tara Cunningham; her great-grandchildren, Merrill Jean Cormier and Ethan Pierce; her sister and brother, May Kurimai of St. Petersburg, FL and Theodore Campbell of New York, NY; along with her former husband, George Waradzin of North Kingstown.She was predeceased by her son, Geoffrey Waradzin and her siblings, Vincent Campbell, Charles Campbell, Jr. and Jess Rocklein.A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, May 4th from 11am-1 pm at her daughter's home in Saunderstown (30 Rose Hill Rd). Family, friends and others whose lives Mima touched are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge through Friends of the National Wildlife Refuges of RI, 50 Bend Road, Charlestown, RI 02813.
