Catherine I. Rock

Newport, RI - Catherine I. Kelso Rock, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 in Newport Hospital.She was the wife of Donald A. Rock. Born in DeKalb Junction, NY on January 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathleen Perry Kelso.Mrs. Rock worked for many years for K-Mart. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church and a member of the Ladies Guild. She was active as a teachers assistant in the Catholic School System for many years. Besides her husband she leaves her daughter Donna N. Rock of Carmel, CA. She also leaves her sisters and brothers, Phyllis Chace of Portsmouth, Diana Neubarth of Hudson, Wisconsin, Nancy Christian of Miriah, NY, Shirley Kennedy of Pennsylvania, Charles Kelso, Jr. Arizona and Thomas R. Kelso of New York State.She was sister of the late Lorraine Lalonde. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 9:00am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road Portsmouth, RI.Burial will take place in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday evening from 4 -7pm in the funeral home.
