Catherine Mary Ibbotson

Portsmouth, - Catherine Mary Sewell Ibbotson, 80, of 76 Seaconnet Boulevard Portsmouth, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at St. Annes Hospital Fall River, MA.She was the wife of the late William Ibbotson. Born in Fall River, MA on December 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sarah Ashworth Sewell. Mrs. Ibbotson worked as a loom operator at Quaker Fabrics of Fall River for 25 years, retiring in 1980 and also at Berkshire Hathaway for a number of years. She also worked at the Naval Torpedo Station during World War II. Mrs. Ibbotson was a communicant of St. Anthonys Church. She is survived by four sons William Ibbotson of Plymouth, MA, Barry Ibbotson of Little Compton, RI, Robert Ibbotson of Easton, MA, and Richard Ibbotson of Portsmouth, RI, two daughters Catherine Mary Ibbotson of North Dartmouth, MA, and Joan Nichols of Finksburg, MD, three brothers Donald Sewell of Revere, MA, Thomas Sewell of Fall River, MA, and Robert Sewell of Medford, MA, two sisters Sarah Chapman of Rome, GA, and Mary Farrell of Brewster, MA, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Raymond Sewell, William Sewell, and Dorothy Barbosa.Her funeral and burial will be private.
