Middletown, RI - Catherine T. Roberts Koziara, of 1 Champlin Terrace, Middletown, RI, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. She was the wife of the late Henry John Koziara. Born in New York City, NY on March 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary McDonald Roberts of Welsh and Irish heritage.Catherine?s first job was as a telephone operator downtown in New York City. After moving to Newport and upon her husband?s retirement she worked as a waitress for many years at the Canfield House and the Pier Restaurant. She also spent most winters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with her daughters Mary and Arlene for many years and also traveled to California to visit with her son John. Her family, children and grandchildren were her life. She is survived by her children Richard Koziara of Newport, Mary Koziara and son in law George Robbat of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Joan DeMello and son in law Anthony DeMello of Middletown, James Koziara and daughter in law Barbara Quattrucci Koziara of Newport, Arlene Schmehling and son in law Gregg Schmehling of Berlin, MD, John Koziara and daughter in law Michele Newman Koziara of Newport Beach, CA, and Linda Kempenaar and son in law Robert Kempenaar II of Middletown, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 15, 2006, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 14, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Memorial Funeral Home.
