Catherine Theresa Reynolds

Catherine T Reynolds, 83, of Middletown, RI, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late James F Reynolds.Born in Bristol, RI on Apr. 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie Flanagan Connery.Mrs. Reynolds was a graduate of Newport Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for over 35 years, working at Newport Hospital and the Lying in Hospital, which is now Woman and Infants Hospital, in Providence, and other institutions over the years. She loved to travel with her late husband and family. She loved reading, knitting and dining out, and in her youth loved playing the piano. She was an avid Cubs and Red Sox fan. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by her daughter Mary C. Silvia and her husband Harry, of Portsmouth, her sons Michael J Reynolds and his wife Tina of Portsmouth, Peter G Reynolds of Middletown, Patrick G Reynolds and his wife Arlene of Middletown, her brother James Connery of Bristol, and sister-in- law Annette Reynolds of Newport. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eileen Silvia, Brittany, Ashley, and Gina Reynolds and her step-grandson Bryan Jestings, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, the late John Connery and her grandson, the late James Silvia.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday , May 18, 2011 at 8:00am at Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am at St Lucys Church 909 W. Main Rd Middletown.Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery, Browns Lane in Middletown.Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
