Catherine V. Shea

Newport, RI - Catherine V. (Winters) Shea, 92, of Newport, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Cornelius Shea for 58 years. Born in Fall River, MA on March 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Finucane) Winters. Mrs. Shea in her younger days, worked at the Torpedo station in Newport during WWII. She also was a Supervisor and a Buyer for Cherry Webb for many years. She was very active at St Josephs church throughout her life. She is survived by her sister Norine Bird of Fall River, MA, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ellen and Peggy Winters and her brother Michael Winters.
