Cathleen D. (Westley) Doncaster, 79, formerly of Canonicus Avenue, Newport, RI, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Grand Islander Health Care Center of Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late William J. Doncaster, Sr., owner and operator of the former Doncaster Bros. in Newport.Born in Newport, RI, on December 20, 1936 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Catherine (Brown) Westley. She was a lifelong resident of Newport. Cathleen previously worked at the former Edgehill facility in Newport and then later as a school lunch lady at Gaudet Middle SchoolCathleen is survived by her children, Harry Doncaster of Portsmouth, RI, Cathleen Fournier of Westport, MA, and Jane Dowler of Middletown, RI, her sister Julia Ekstrom Belanger of Newport, six grandchildren, Eric Fournier of Cimarron, KS, Gerard Fournier of Riverside, RI, Robert and Catherine Dowler of Middletown, RI, Will and Saydie Doncaster of Portsmouth, RI and two great grandchildren.She was the mother of the late William J. Doncaster, Jr. and the sister of the late Harry and Timothy Westley and Mary Gagne.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday March 29, 2016 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her service will be held on Tuesday March 29, 2016, at 12:00 pm, in Memorial Funeral Home, 3875 Broadway, Newport.Burial will take place in Union Cemetery, East Main Road, Portsmouth.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
