Middletown, RI - Cecelia Monica Abreu, 86, formerly of 19 Renfrew Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI. Born in Middletown, RI on March 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Francisca Andrade Abreu.Cecelia was a communicant of Jesus Savior Church. She was an avid gardener. She is survived by her sister Carlotta Agnes Ward of Falls Church, VA as well as many nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Joseph Philip Abreu, John Abreu, Izoura Scaverilli, Elsie Stevens, Mary P. Abreu and Bernadette T. Abreu.Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 27 from 6-8 pm, in the Hambly Funeral Home, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 8:00am from the Hambly Funeral Home, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
