Celia Marie Scott

Middletown, RI - Celia M. Moniz Scott, 79, of 30 Wolcott Avenue Middletown, RI, died Monday, December 22, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Richard O. Scott. Born in Middletown, RI on October 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John Moniz Silvia and the late Mary Agnes Souza Silvia. Mrs. Scott worked for many years at the former S. Adelson Company of Newport, as the headbookkeeper, until retiring in the early 1980s. She was a 1942 graduate of Rogers High School. Mrs. Scott was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church and was also a member of the Jesus Saviour Rosary Sodality. She is survived by two sons Richard C. Scott and Stephen J. Scott both of Middletown, RI, her sister Rita Spicer and brother in-law Walter Spicer of Fall River, MA, and her sister Flora Frank and brother in-law Duane Frank of Tiverton, RI, her niece Kathryn Vieira and her nephew Walter Spicer Jr.She was the sister of the late John Silvia. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2003, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
