Charice Otey

Charice "Mac" Otey, 45, of Middletown died Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Newport Hospital of Newport, RI. She was the wife of Thomas R. Otey.Born on April 9, 1970 in Pomona, CA, she was the daughter of Dennis Smith and Suzanne Howard. In her youth Charice loved and trained horses. An established equestrian rider, she also showed her horses in several competitions. She was a self-proclaimed "gear head" and auto enthusiast. Charice had a very successful career in construction defect litigation. She and her husband have lived on the island for 10 years and had been married for 16 years. Besides her husband, mother, father and brother she is survived by her daughters, Cheyenne and Kendra.At the family request all services will be private.Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Lucys Hearth, 913 West Main Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
