Charity Beth Garcia

Portsmouth, RI - Charity Beth Garcia, 36, of Fall River, MA died on June 18, 2011 at home in Fall River. Born in Newport, RI on June 19, 1974, she was the daughter of Arthur A. Medeiros Jr. of Tiverton and Mary Lou Perry White of Greensboro, NC.Charity grew up in Newport and Tiverton, RI and was a graduate of Tiverton High School, class of 1992. She was drawn to caring for people at a young age, and began work at Charlton Hospital in Fall River, and continued her training to become a nurse. She graduated from the nursing program at Diman Vocational School in 2003 and began work as an LPN. For several years she was a loved member of the staff at Southpointe Rehabilitation Center. Charity was quick to volunteer her time and endless energy to helping those around her, whether that be at work or at any number of fundraisers, events, or even making donations or offering an unexpected thank you or handmade gift. Her name exemplified her personality. Her outgoing nature made many friends, she enjoyed a night out dancing with her friends or time at the beach. Above all, her love started with her children and they were the center of her life. In addition to her mother and father, she is survived by her stepfather Leon White of Greensboro, NC, her grandfather Arthur A. Medeiros Sr. of Tiverton, her grandmother Beatrice Souza of Portsmouth, RI, and her children Kyle Garcia, Alexis Garcia, Jayde Garcia, and Taijon Thimas. She is also survived by her brothers Jude Medeiros and Aaron Medeiros both of Tiverton, sister Bethany Medeiros of Fall River, MA, and step sister Leanne Quarterman, of Yokuska, Japanas well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 7:30pm in Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
