Charles Robert "Bob" Flick, passed away suddenly on January 19, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. Mr. Flick was born in Junction City, KS, son of the late David D. and Winifred (Ryan) Flick. He was the loving husband of Dolores Flick. They would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on February 16th. Bob also leaves behind his four children: Deborah Kestler of Middletown, Lydia Reynolds and her husband Paul of Middletown, Mark Flick and his wife Gail of Tiverton, and Melissa Mather and her husband Jason of Middletown. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.Mr. Flick retired after a 23 year career in the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief. He was named 1967 Servlant Sailor of the year. But for many, Bob will always be called doc having served on the front lines with the U.S. Marines as a corpsman in Vietnam. During his service time in Vietnam he received many Decorations, Medals and Commendations.Bob was well known in the area as a baseball, basketball and football official and was inducted into all three sports Hall Of FameHis funeral will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 9:30am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway at Vernon Avenue, Newport. Following Mass the family will receive friends and family in church.
