Charles (Chuck) Scott Bailey, 50, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at his home in Newport. Chuck was born December 23, 1965 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Charles S. and Constance (Sayers) Bailey of Portsmouth. He was married to Christin (Boutros) Bailey.Chuck grew up in Portsmouth and was an avid sports fan since childhood. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and attended Mitchell College. He earned a scholarship to Salve Regina where he played basketball. After college he remained active with YMCA adult basketball leagues for several years. He enjoyed time on the water on his boat, and following his favorite sports teams.He is survived by his wife Christin (Boutros) Bailey of Newport, his parents Charles S. and Constance (Sayers) Bailey of Portsmouth; a brother Christopher Bailey of Norton, MA; and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 27 from 10:00am-12:00Noon in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday at 12:30pm in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
