Middletown, - Charles Donald Baker, 63, of 12 Sherwood Road Middletown, RI, died Monday, July 21, 2003 at Rhode Island Hospital Providence, RI.He was the husband of Beverly Ann Cicerone Baker. Born in Newport, RI on October 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Charles Francis and Mary OBrien Baker.Mr. Baker was the chef at the Newport Hospital for the past 40 years, where he was employee of the year in 1986. He was in the United States Army Reserves. Mr. Baker was very involved in Evangelical Friends Church, Middletown, serving as an usher and on their Hospitality Committee. He was a member of the North End Club, the Friends of Newport Music Festival and a former member of the Friends of Ballroom Dancing. Mr. Baker was a faithful blood donor to the Newport Hospital and other health organizations. He would go out of his way to help someone if they needed help. He and his wife enjoyed traveling around the world, and he also enjoyed going to plays and concerts over the years. Besides his wife of twenty five years he is survived by four daughters Laurie Ann Rodamaker of Iowa Falls, IO, Melissa Anne Paiva of Middletown, RI, Chris Alicia Serpa of Jupiter, FL, and Debra Ann Clemmons of Newport, RI, six brothers George Baker of Middletown, RI, Thomas W. Baker of Newport, RI, Raymond Baker of Newport, RI, Frederick Baker of Fall River, MA, Robert Baker of Fall River, MA, and Michael S. Baker of Newport, RI, four sisters Dorothy M. Sinnott of Portsmouth, RI, Jerrie Gross of Columbia, SC, Geneille Baker of Newport, RI, and Jane K. Gambrell of Middletown, RI, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late James Baker and Delores Knudsen. His funeral will be held on Friday, July 25, 2003, at 11:00 AM in Evangelical Friends Church, 70 Bliss Mine Road, Middletown. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
