Charles Dubell

Charlie J. Dubell, 67, of 51 Middle Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at Miriam Hospital, Providence, RI.Born in Providence, RI on August 20, 1941, he was the son of the late Charles James Dubell, Sr. and Dorothy Clarke Dubell.Charlie grew up in Newport and worked for The Davis Moving Company and the Bowler Moving Company. Most recently he has been working on the janitorial crew on the Newport Navy Base in the War College. Charlie attended the Portsmouth Senior Center and was very involved in the activities at the center. He was an avid sports fan who was devoted to the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.He is survived by his brother Bob Dubell and his wife Cynthia of East Providence, RI, his niece Tammy Dubell, and nephew James Dubell, three great nieces and nephews and a close friend Colleen Santos and her family for the past several years.He was the brother of the late Roy Dubell, John Dubell and Judith Crocker.His funeral will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009, at 12:00 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009, from 11:00am-12:00pm in the funeral home.Donations in his memory may be made to James L.
