Charles F. Anderson

Charles F. Anderson, age 74, of Middletown R.I. passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Charlie was born on February 5, 1941 in Newport. He is the son of the late George Anderson and the late Elsie (Sharp) Anderson. He is the husband of the late Eileen (Silvia) Anderson. They were married for 52 years and passed away within 2 months of each other in the home he built for them. As he rests in peace, he leaves behind his children, Charlie Anderson and his wife Susy Camara of Middletown R.I., Brian Anderson of Middletown, Melissa (Anderson) Wordell and her husband Sidney of Little Compton R.I.; eight grandchildren; Brooke and Charlie Anderson, Brian and Shane Anderson, David Wordell and his wife Cat, Robert, Ryan, and Katelyn Wordell and six great grandchildren; Lela and Esme Allen, Jaxon Anderson and Jayda Barksdale, and Grace and Sidney Wordell; and his sister, Lois Farrea of Middletown. He was the brother of the late George Anderson.Charlie worked for Egan's Laundry for many years, owned and operated his own lobster business and worked for the old Newport Shipyard in Newport.He was a member of the original Bocci Club from the Tennis Hall of Fame and the Drifters Car Club. Charlie was a jack of all trades and taught himself all he knew, and could fix or build anything. In retirement, Charlie enjoyed his position as official driver for the "Golden Girls". He could sit doing crossword puzzles for hours on end. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Memorial funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in Memorial Funeral Home.
