Portsmouth, RI - Charles Kalogeras, 87, of 12 Corys Court, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, February 11, 2008 at St. Annes Hospital, Fall River, MA. He was the husband of Arletta Roche Kalogeras. Born in Providence, RI, on November 24, 1920, he was the son of the late James and Kanelli Mastromanalakos Kalogeras. Mr. Kalogeras owned and operated Kals Restaurant in Portsmouth for many years. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He also owned many restaurants since his early 20s in various locations in Rhode Island. Mr. Kalogeras enjoyed cooking and spencing time with his family. Besides his wife of 53 years, he is survived by his children, Jim Kalogeras and his companion Jean Kelly of Newport, RI, Marie Aguiar and her husband Don and Gail Buddemyer and her husband Kevin all of Bristol, RI and his grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Megan Aguiar, Kristine Buddemyer and Jessica and Rebecca Kalogeras.He was the father of the late Kathleen Anne Palmer and the brother of the late Marie Kalogeras and Theresa Boisse. Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
