Middletown, RI - Charles N. Jenkins, of Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.He was the husband of Carol Fleming Jenkins. Born in Newport, RI, he was the son of Sarah E. Jenkins of Newport, RI and the late Charles E. Jenkins. He is survived by his wife Carol Jenkins of Middletown, RI, their daughter, Melissa Jenkins of Newport, their son, Eric C. Jenkins of Northbridge, MA, his two brothers, Donald and Robert Jenkins, both of Newport, RI, two brothers-in-law, Michael Fleming of Fall River, MA, and Ernest Fleming of Texas. He also leaves their granddaughter, Breana Jenkins of Newport, and several nieces and nephews. Charles worked in the maintenance department at Raytheon for 42 years retiring in 2005. He was a member of Local 587. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. Mr. Jenkins coached Little League baseball and Pop Warner football. He was a proud United States Marine Veteran.His funeral will be held on April 5, 2011 at 11:00 am at Graceway Community Church, 215 Forest Avenue, Middletown.Burial with Military Honors will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours are omitted.
