Charlotte C. Weston

Charlotte C. (Carter) Weston, 92, of Middletown, RI, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the John Clarke Nursing Retirement Center in Middletown.She was the wife of the late Warren H. Weston, Sr. They were married for 54 years.Born on April 1, 1923 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late George and Martha Carter.Mrs. Weston was a Deacon of the Community Baptist Church in Newport, RI and was a former member of its gospel choir. She was a past Matron of the local Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Weston was a business owner and owned and operated the former njema Clothing Store in Newport. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, needle point and quilting.She is survived by her children, Warren Weston, Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Stoughton, MA, Guy Weston and his wife, Kim, of Newport, RI and Nancy Bardwell and her husband, James, of Middletown, RI; her grandchildren, Capt. Jennifer Williams, US Army, of Elizabethtown, KY, Jessica Jenkins of Newport News, VA, Janelle Antenor of Stoughton, MA, Warren H. Weston, III of Stoughton, MA, Christopher Bardwell of Middletown, RI, David Jebutu of Middletown, RI, Phillip Weston of Middletown, RI, and Vanessa Bryant of Newport, RI; her great-grandchildren, Ebony Michelle Williams, Curtis L. Williams Layla Antenor, and Julia Bryant; her sister, Barbara Williams of Newport, RI; her sister-in-law, Beatrice Link of Newport, RI; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.Her calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and also on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Bld., Newport, RI. Her funeral service will held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the church.
