Newport RI- Christian C. Curry, 54, of Newport, died Monday, August 13, 2012 at home, surrounded by her family and friends.Born Colleen Christian Allen on March 27, 1958 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of Carol Nettles Allen and the late Clyde A. Allen, Jr.Colleen grew up in her beloved Newport and graduated from Rogers High School in 1976. She received her BA in Literature and her BS in Plant Science from URI. Colleen worked at the former restaurant rant La Petite Auberge for over 20 years. She was the proprietress of the store Splinter and Thread at Benjamin Fish Commons for several years. Most recently, she developed a private property gardening service, helping maintain several beautiful properties in Newport. She was an avid tennis player and sailor. She loved the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She will be remembered for her creative prose, wonderful sense of humor and her stunning wit.She is survived by her son Morgan Allen Curry of Cranston, RI, her mother Carol Allen and her husband Kenneth R. MacDuff of Newport, her brother Russell S. Allen and her sister Cynthia A. Stone, both of West Palm Beach, FL.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 1pm in St. John the Evangelist Church, 61 Poplar St., Newport, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Robert Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840 or to the Susan G.
